Decitabine
5-Aza-2’-deoxycytidine;5-AzadCyD; NSC-127716
Decitabine inhibits DNA methyltransferase. Induces demethylation and reactivation of silencedgenes suppressing the growth of human tumor cell lines. Increasesstem cell reprogramming efficiency. Stimulates osteogenic differentiation ofhuman bone marrow stromal cells. Induces differentiation and growthinhibition in IDH1 mutant glioma cells and decreases tumor growth in vivo. An extremely usefulreagent for inhibition of DNA methyltransferases in a variety of experimentalsystems including zebrafish embryos. Cell permeable. Active in vivo.
